Connor McFadden’s Road to 2nd Place in Tampa Bay
On Saturday, November 9, 2024, Connor McFadden stepped onto the stage in Tampa Bay, Florida for the Men’s Classic Bodybuilding competition. After months of preparation and grueling work, he earned an impressive 2nd place finish. This achievement brings Connor closer to his ultimate goal of earning a pro card in bodybuilding, with his sights set on a first-place finish in his next competition a year and a half from now.
The Last Week: Carb Deprivation and Preparation
In the final week leading up to the event, Connor faced one of the toughest challenges in bodybuilding prep: minimizing carb intake. For athletes like Connor, carbs are essential for maintaining energy and muscle fullness, so reducing them drastically for peak conditioning was no easy feat. He pushed through, staying disciplined and focused, resulting in a lean, chiseled physique that captured the judges’ attention. That and an artificial tan to highlight muscle definition will get the people going.
Strong Support from Friends: Justin Deegan and Matt Tavares
A huge part of Connor’s success came from the support of friends who stood by him throughout the journey. Justin Deegan and Matt Tavares, both loyal friends and avid supporters, traveled to Tampa Bay to cheer him on. Their presence at the event provided the motivation and reassurance Connor needed, proving that bodybuilding is as much about camaraderie as it is about individual grit. Having such great people in his corner made a world of difference to Connor, allowing him to give his all on stage.
Looking Ahead: The Quest for First Place and a Pro Card
This 2nd place finish was a pivotal milestone for Connor, but it’s only the beginning. His next goal? Returning stronger and more prepared to claim first place and earn his pro card. Over the next year and a half, Connor plans to refine his physique, enhance his conditioning, and come back even more prepared to take the top spot.
This next time Connor plans on stepping on the stage with more focus on size and practicing posing more. He also will be taking a longer off season to increase his chance of gaining more muscle mass.
The journey to the pro card continues, and with Connor’s dedication, the support of friends, and the Tampa Bay experience behind him, the future looks bright. We’re all looking forward to seeing what Connor accomplishes next in his bodybuilding career.
